What is acai berry anyway?

It’s a small, grape sized fruit that grows primarily in the Amazonian rain forest. Comprised mostly of a large seed (80% of the fruit) the acai PULP is considered one of the most nutritious, anti-oxidant rich foods in the world. (Acai’s ORAC value consistently appears to be the best of any fruit or vegetable tested)

Does it really work?

Does acai cure cancer? What about other diseases?

I say NO. There have been SOME suggestive studies that have supported further research….but at this point, I don’t think it’s fair (or ethical) to state that acai cures ANY serious disease. Used properly, it is a vitally important and integral part of feeding your body essential nutrients, and that is ALWAYS a good thing. But many marketers have “run” with some pretty unproven theorems about the POTENTIAL acai berry benefits….and stated them as fact. (such as the cure for cancer research that was being done at a Florida University)
